It’s been a little while since I’ve posted anything on here and I’m sorry. To apologize, let me share with you this acrylic painting I did of a castle. Ta-da!
This is image was drawn from a book I read a few years ago. I like to work with pre-existing images then add my own elements and design. That is to say, if I want to draw a picture of a person or a thing in a certain pose – I like to have a photograph of a person or a thing in that pose that I can make a likeness of. It all reminds me of having to draw bowls of fruit in art class (a project I always hated). The other day I was struggling with the pose of a character in one of my comics. In the end, I asked my partner to pose for me and found the task much easier for it.
I suppose over time and with practice I’ll be better able to fully conceptualize my art without requiring a model, but for now I’m happy with my wife and bowls of fruit.
